 Learning Nature
Lessons are given in the center in all subjects and to all ages (Grade 1 and up). The lessons are carried out in pleasant work rooms, suitable for working with up to 2 children in a lesson. This way of learning ensures that each student is treated individually, receiving an adapted working method. Learning in "one on one or in pairs which allows a social experience, enabling mutual studying to be carried on outside the classroom. The teachers of "Tiltan" specialize in integrating a number of teaching methods such as learning strategies, ways of overcoming hardships and barriers, dividing material into segments, and the EasyReader – a device which helps in learning and practicing reading. In addition, we have many games and learning aids which help by making the learning process easier, stimulating interest, arousing motivation and making the lesson experiential

Learning Strategies
This method helps the child "learn how to learn". This means the teachers in Tiltan provide the child/teenager with learning skills which make their studying more efficient and encourage their feeling of capability and independence. Through these learning strategies the child deals with, and overcomes, organizational difficulties, procrastination issues, forgetfulness, overwhelming feelings which can cause stress, difficulties in time management and evaluation , and problems in following through and completing tasks
In addition, this method includes attention to all learning components
  • Development of efficient reading – how does one approach a text? How to distinguish the important from the unnecessary; organize valid information from the text

  • Strategy for storing and withdrawing information from memory – processing the text into diagrams, individual memory characterization
  • "Cracking" open and multiple choice questions
  • Theories of efficient time management – organizing time during a test and testing periods
The Teaching Staff
Teachers at the center are all qualified to work with children who suffer from attention deficit disorder, learning deficiencies and other difficulties. Every teacher at the center goes through a continuing education program in learning strategies, which is carried out by the manager of the learning center. All the teachers have much experience in teaching individuals as well as study groups. In addition, the teachers of "Tiltan" specialize in working according to diagnosis (if one exists) and implementing conclusions

The Lesson
In the learning center, we make sure that the lessons are carried out in a way that incorporates personally adapted teaching – customized to the child's needs - together with structured principles which provide a framework and help in planning the lesson. The length of a lesson is 60 minutes in which the teacher makes sure to teach the child "how to learn" and to instill specially adapted teaching skills for the subject being studied. The teachers' aim is to teach the children to be independent students so they are able to deal with the materiel on their own, after receiving the proper tools
The following are several attributes which characterize attention deficit disorder and the way they are dealt with
  • Impulsiveness – The lesson is carried out in a way which allows the student to learn in a regulated and monitored way through balancing between active learning and frontal learning

  • Disorganization – Work is done according to learning strategy principles and skills which take into account time organization, and the learning materials and environment
  • Difficulty in focusing and carrying out a task – Work is done by dividing the task into segments, allowing the child to handle smaller portions of material each time
  • Difficulty in listening to others – Work is done in pairs (in recommended cases) which forces the child to be attentive to the child he is working with
  • Imaginative problem solving – Learning through games and other learning aids
Preparation for the "bagrut"
"Tiltan" provides teachers who specialize in preparing students for the "bagrut" exams
We help students in preparing for the "bagrut" in a range of major subjects. The teachers are professional and up to date with the material that is to be studied and the contents of their exams. They specialize in working with teens who struggle due to learning difficulties and attention deficit disorder. The lessons are carried out using individual learning strategies.
Also, in order to assist the students in successfully completing the "bagrut", we offer 2 possible courses
  • Consistent studying throughout the year, accompanying the material studied in school

  • A concentrated course prior to the "bagrut" for those who require learning the material from beginning to end
